    Joe Crispin records a riding double Friday night after winning the feature race


    ITS ALL ABOUT JAKE GOES ALL THE WAY

    AUBURN, Wash. (May 4, 2012) – Its All About Jake held off Passion Lives Here late for a half-length victory Friday in the featured Purina Feed Purse for 3-year-olds and up at Emerald Downs.

    With Joe Crispin riding his second winner of the night, Its All About Jake ran six furlongs in 1:10.29 on a fast track and paid $5, $3.80 and $3. Nick Lowe is both the winning owner and trainer.

    In winning for the third time in four starts, Its All About Jake set fractions of :22.50, :45.18 and :57.29, opened up three lengths into the stretch and then held off the onrushing Passion Lives Here for the victory.

    A 4-year-old Oregon-bred gelding by Benchmark, Its All About Jake has compiled a 4-0-2 record in 12 starts overall with earnings of $14,152.

    Passion Lives Here, a 9-to-1 long shot ridden by Rocco Bowen, paid $7.20 and $5.20. Newaukum Creek, Leonel Camacho-Flores riding, was three lengths back in third and paid $3.40.

    Mamoonya, It’s Our Pleasure, Gavinryan, Speedy Wheatie and Hickory Road completed the order of finish.

    NOTES: Owner/trainer Don Munger and jockey Leonel Camacho-Flores continued their torrid streak in the second race as Caty Wampus ($7.80) came off the bench to score a one-length victory in 1:05.15 for 5-½ furlongs. Munger and Camacho-Flores have combined to win with five of their last seven starts together, including a third-place finish by Newaukum Creek in the sixth race feature…Leslie Mawing won with his only mount Friday aboard Davidaaronnathanne ($8.60) in the third race. The defending Emerald Downs riding champion is off to a good 7-for-26 mark (26.9 percent) at the meet…Camacho-Flores leads a bunched group atop the riders’ standings with 10 wins, followed closely by Crispin and Eliska Kubinova with nine wins apiece and Debbie Hoonan and William Antongeorgi with eight wins each…Bonifacio Rayas, longtime assistant to trainer Roy Lumm, notched a training double of his own with Have’n a Wild Time ($4.80) in the opener and Skimming the Wave ($5.80) in the fourth…The $0.50 Pick 5 (4-8-6-4-1/4) paid $620.50…Live racing continues Saturday with special first post time at 1 p.m. Festivities, of course, include simulcast wagering on the 138th Kentucky Derby at 3:24 (PDT).
