SIX FURLONGS IN 1:09.48
JOCKEY RONALD RICHARD, DALLON’S GOLD, WINNER: “I had the outside post position. I was planning to break it out of the gate and get on top of the favorite. Nothing is ever for sure, but I definitely loved my chances from there. The only proven horse I was really scared of was Chu and You, and Dallon’s Gold is unproven having only won two races. Going up against a horse that has won three stakes races is a pretty big test.”
JOCKEY JULIEN COUTON, CHU AND YOU, 1-TO-5 FAVORITE, FOURTH: “She didn’t get away as fast as she did the last two times. Dallon’s Gold broke on top, and that was probably their plan. Chu and You likes to be on the front side, and today she was surprised to be right behind the pace. She didn’t know what to do. She’s a very different filly, and has a lot of potential, but she’s still learning. She needs to learn how to run from behind when a horse breaks faster than usual.
