    KIND OF NAUGHTY IS KIND OF FAST,
    SCORCHES TRACK IN COCA-COLA PURSE

    AUBURN, Wash. (September 2, 2013) – Kind of Naughty is on a major roll at Emerald Downs.

    The 4-year-old filly won her third straight race Monday, rolling to a 4 ¾-length victory in the $18,900 Coca-Cola Purse for older fillies and mares.

    With regular rider Isaias Enriquez aboard, Kind of Naughty ran six furlongs in 1:08.72 and paid $3.40, $2.40 and $2.10. Frank Lucarelli is the trainer for owners Chris Randall and Nick Rossi.

    Muchas Coronas, ridden by Javier Matias, finished second and paid $3.40 and $2.20. It was two lengths back to Tabled With Gold, with Connie Doll riding, and a $2.80 show payoff.

    Spot On Babe and Strange Luck completed the order of finish.

    Breaking from the No. 1 post-position, Kind of Naughty led through fractions of :21.97, :44.50 and :56.51, straightened into the lane with a three-length cushion and widened her advantage to the wire.

    A Kentucky-bred by Songandaprayer, Kind of Naughty became the sixth horse with four victories this season, joining Stopshoppingdebbie, Stephanie Plum, Big Bad Brown, Southern Solution and Max Cooper in the four-win club. Kind of Naughty is 4-1-0 in six starts at the meet—winning races both short and long—and has an overall record 5-3-2 in 16 starts with earnings of $78,142.

    The victory also moved Lucarelli, the two time defending champion, into a 36-35 lead over Jeff Metz in the trainers’ standings.

    NOTES: 89-year-old trainer Don Munger capped a holiday hat trick as Shuddle ($7.60) won the Labor Day finale in 1:38.96. Munger, a Marine who fought in the battle of Iwo Jima in World War 2, also won with Strategic Patience on Memorial Day and Pretty Darn Good on July 4thNathan Chaves, rider of Shuddle, was one of three jockeys to post riding doubles Monday. Ronald Richard and Isaias Enriquez also had a pair of wins, and Enriquez remains in contention for the 2013 Emerald Downs riding title. With 12 days remaining, defending champion Juan Gutierrez leads Enriquez 90-86, with Rocco Bowen a distant third with 46 wins…Dallon’s Gold ($5.80) remained undefeated in two starts for trainer Dave Bennett, as the extremely quick 2-year-old Private Gold gelding blitzed a field of allowance runners in 1:03.74 for 5 ½ furlongs…Professor Pollowitz tabbed Dallon’s Gold as his program Pick of the Day, and his suggested $0.50 Pick 4 paid $168.45 on an $18 ticket…3-year-old filly Anitewithyou ($5.20) rallied from last and improved to two-for-two lifetime with an easy victory in race two with Nathan Chaves up for trainer Mary Pirone. Hollywood Holly—with $10,010 of the $12,495 in the show pool—finished last, producing show prices of $8.20, $10.20 and $20.80… Live racing resumes Friday with first post 6:45 p.m. Washington Cup XI highlights weekend action on Sunday with six stakes worth $300,000.
