    18th RUNNING, JUNE 23, 2013

    ONE MILE IN 1:35.07 (:23.22, :45.96, 1:09.63, 1:22.04)

JOCKEY ISAIAS ENRIQUEZ, MUSIC OF MY SOUL, WINNER: “He broke a little slow, but I was able to put him on the lead. After that, I’ll I had to do was hang on. He was going so easy. He was just looking around and was so relaxed. I was playing cat-and-mouse with (Finallygotabentley) because he kept trying to move up and then I’d give my horse a little tap and he’d take off but then relax right away. In the stretch, my horse started moving side-to-side and was really getting tired. I’m just thinking, ‘come on, lets go a little bit more, lets not lose this now, this is when I need you.’ He straightened out and got it done.”

JOCKEY LEONEL CAMACHO-FLORES, CARIBOO ROAD, FINISED SECOND; DECLARED NON-STARTER: “The horse broke before the bell and then when the gate opened, the (gate crewman) grabbed my horse. This was the first time I rode the horse, but I knew he was a good horse. He broke last, so I wasn’t going to rush him. I started to ask him at the three-eighths pole and he really started to run. I think this is the best distance for him.”

    18th RUNNING, JUNE 23, 2013

    ONE MILE IN 1:34.74-stakes record (:24.04, :47.49, 1:10.98, 1:22.74)

JOCKEY ROCCO BOWEN, STOPSHOPPINGDEBBIE, WINNER: “It’s easy riding horses for Tom (Wenzel) because we always come up with a game plan. We always have a Plan-B, but knock on wood, we never have to go back to our Plan-B. I was expecting someone else to go for the lead and push me, but they didn’t and I really enjoyed that. At the five-eighths pole I saw that nobody was coming, so I knew they were going to have to use a lot of horse to catch up to me and even more horse to get by me. The breeding says it all. These kinds of horses are so classy. She’s the kind of horse that runs push button. I’m still a little sore, but I’m doing OK. The only concern was that my leg was broken. The doctor said it wasn’t, so I knew I was good to go.”
